David H Rivenburgh Agency Inc has been meeting various needs of commercial and personal insurance for over 50 years successfully. Our insurance agency has a long and reputable history. Now with the presence of only two family members, our history has grown steadily from the time patriarch David Rivenburgh received his first $7.00 commission on a $100 insurance policy, and you could purchase car insurance for $84 a year.
David as an independent agent was working out of his home. After two years, he built his own establishment since he was also a professional contractor.
Initially, the office location, Rt. 9H in Ghent was a desolate area and not viewed by many as an ideal spot to construct a home for an insurance agency. Forty-five years later, it is right in the middle of a commercial strip of businesses.
After David passed in May of 2006, and Berniece passed in July of 2007, the agency is owned and operated by daughter Laura Mortefolio and son Guy Rivenburgh.
